The Men That Drive Me Places: Uber

This semester I have been in a class on world religions. Even though it hasn't been the easiest, I have learned that the world is more religious than I would ever expect. One of the most consistent ways I am surprised by the way that I see religion popping up is through my experiences in the back of Uber rides.

Just today, I hailed two Ubers and as a result had two men telling me about their religious beliefs without much prompting. It didn't take much to have a great conversation on what they believed and why. It was crazy how open they were about their beliefs, discomforts, questions, and doubts. I have seen this to be true for almost every Uber ride I have hailed this semester.

This has reminded me just how important it is as a Christian to be willing to share in interfaith dialogues (meaning practicing in Uber rides is a great way to begin).

It also means that I have had the song by Ben Rector about drivers stuck in my head for most of the day.
